the-first-victory ⚫ Persistent pupillary membranes, or PPM. Basically the fetal membrane that was responsible for building the lens didn't go away like it was supposed to during development. So it's uhhh... just gonna hang out there in the eye forever. It can affect their vision depending on how much extra tissue there is and where it's placed, but I'd suspect the brain can help "edit out" some of it (like how it "edits out" our nose).

TheDailyMews Looks like Persistent Pupillary Membrane. It's a congenital defect. In humans, it can be inherited but it almost always occurs without a known cause.

ShuuyiW⚫ Optometrist here, that's a persistent pupillary membrane in both eyes. Typically doesn't affect their vision much; but looks cool!

parsipop Wow! That's really cool. I can only assume she knows the meaning of life because she witnessed everything (everything) the instant she was born.
