TikToker Quin Shepard posts videos about plants. His speciality is working with exotic plants and even has his own online shop where he ships the one's he grows out to customers. The videos are either educational botany clips or funny plant-related skits. He's grown a large plant community with his followers and has created a beautiful safe space for new and old plant enthusiast.

Recently, Shepard posted a TikTok saying his boss saw his TikToks (which are all completely wholesome) and she fired him, through a text…

He says in the video, “I understand that this might be viewed as unprofessional, but I would never engage with the platform until I had all of my work done—the purpose of my TikToks is to educate and inform and to have a little fun.” He also says that she made them work over 8 hour long days with no break allowed.

Shepard is obviously upset by this rash act against his TikToks since they did nothing but bring the shop more business. He was making minimum wage at this shop and never felt respected. The boss even required him to tell her when his “good and bad” days are and how he's feeling about his medication. “Unfortunately, my mental health is non of your business,” he says.

Fired from plant shop:

His followers are appalled. Many of them said the only shopped there because of him and are now going to shop elsewhere. Though he does add in his comments that the video exposing his awful boss was not a call to boycott the shop. “I'd like to make this video to all the bosses out there,” he says in the video. “You say you 'well I have to do what's best for my business and I have to make sure that we're growing'—are you really growing if you've had 7 employees in less than one year of business?"

The comments are all on his side, saying that she's lost a great employee and totally missed out on the benefits her business could've had with such a plant influencer as her employee. They even suggest that he could sue her for asking about his “mental health"—especially since she asked out his medications. Shepard says he fully intends to continue making his videos moving forward. Though he says, “please do not harass this business or leave poor reviews. That is NOT what I’m advocating,” his clap back video already has commenters saying they're done with that shop.
