Crane Operators are Sharing the View from Up Top of Their Large Cranes on TikTok

Have you ever been inside the cabin of a large crane as it ascends into the sky? If you don't work in the trade, then the answer is most likely no. It's more likely you're passed on walking passed a construction site. You don't need to up close to one to see just how large and high up these guys go. But when you do see one up close, somehow their size is still shocking.

Crane Operators are on TikTok sharing views from the skies. The height these blue collar workers are at is absolutely jarring even to somehow without vertigo. However, these guys are professional and make it look like a paradise in the sky.

Watching the Chaos Below

These TikToks really show how blasé these guys really are about how far off they are from the ground. Some cranes even have a totally swanky cabin, tricked out with seating, snacks, one even has a microwave! One crane operator on TikTok even shows you getting out of the cabin and throwing a bucket down so he can get his lunch. Just watching him pop himself out of the crane cabin with one phone in his hand is terrifying, but he goes about it with ease.

You can't just buy a crane and start driving that thing around—it's a trade skill that requires you to be certified. Good thing too, because those things could really wreck some sh*t up. Each state has their own laws on how to become a crane operator. In NYC you must become a licensed Class C Hoist Machine Operator by passing the appropriate National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) or the Crane Institute Certification (CIC) written and practical examinations for the type of machinery you intend to operate. In Pennsylvania you need a NCCCO certification and must pass a written and a practical examination for each type of crane used.

Terrifying

It can be a very dangerous job, so for most of use there, I think we'll stick to getting the crane experience through these professionals on TikTok
