Tiny Stray Dog Sits in the Road Trying to Get Help for His Injured Doggy Friend Laying Behind Him, TikToker Comes to the Rescue

TikToker Samantha aka @streetlifetothesweetlife constantly works on saving abandoned dogs. Her profile is filled with stories of her saving injured dogs who were left behind to die, puppies that needed a home, and more. Most recently, she rescued a pair of pups that came with a heartbreaking storying, but thanks to her, a happy ending.

Samantha saw a post begging for someone to come and rescue a dog they saw sitting in the middle of a street. She took the hour drive there, and found the pup happy to see her, but unwilling to leave. When they looked just a few steps behind the tiny dog, they realized he had a friend and he was badly injured.

“This little guy saw his friend hit by a car and never left his side. We wouldn't have found him if his friend wasn't waiting in the middle of the road,” she wrote in the now-viral video. “We didn't know what bones were broken… He was laying in water.”

She secured the little friend and carefully picked up the injured boy as well. Though his tail was wagging with love, his cries alerted them that something was very wrong and he was in pain. The immediately went to the emergency vet for him to get looked at. They named the two BFFs Matthew and Corey, (like Corey Matthews from Boy Meets World.)

Matthew, the injured pup, had a few fractures, but was going to make it. When Samantha went to pick him up from the vet ER, she made sure to bring along Corey, the sweet pup that didn't leave his friends side during his time of need.

Though the two dogs are obviously very close with each other, they aren't technically “bonded," which in some animals mean they don't do well without each other. It's difficult to find fosters for one dog, so for two it's even harder. However, these babies both found foster homes and luckily they are just several minutes away from each other, so they get to see each other often. Though viewers are upset that they aren't being fostered together, dog rescue is not an easy thing to do, so it's still heartwarming to see this epic rescue story. Samantha even will stream live TikToks of the doggy pair's play dates and, of course, posts videos of how well they're doing and how happy they are in their separate homes.

“Stop anthropomorphizing dogs,” she says in a TikTok. “Just because dogs like each other doesn't make them ‘bonded',”
