"No Step on Snek": TikToker Hilariously Pranks Co-Worker by Swapping His "DONT TREAD ON ME" License Plate

Americans are used to seeing the “DONT TREAD ON ME” flag all over the place, especially in more rural areas who garner a lot of distrust for the government. If you don't know what it means, it the most simplified terms, it's basically a symbol saying if the government gets too greedy, it's gets gonna get its a$$ kicked. Does everyone who flies this symbol know that? I'd assume so, but who knows. This is America. If you want to get a little more in depth, it's called the “Gadsden” flag, named after an American politician during the American Revolution. It's now often used by libertarians.

Now, the “no step on snek” is a play on that. Maybe some take offense, those are mostly boomers. Millennials and Gen-Z appreciate the meme-ification of the flag. The poorly drawn snake, the play on words written in all lower case, everything about it is hilarious. Many libertarians actually embrace the meme-version of it more since the original “DONT TREAD ON ME” version gets used by many people who twist and turn its original meaning.

TikToker Bre aka @missmaul recently pulled a hilarious prank that's going viral on TikTok right now when she swapped her co-workers “DONT TREAD ON ME” front car plate with the meme version “no step on snek.”

“He never even noticed,” it says in the video. “His wife had to tell him.” She posts that this is hands down her favorite prank she has ever pulled. The coworker was driving around for who knows how long before his wife had to point it out to him. If only there was footage of his face when he finally got a glimpse of the “no step on snek” plate.

The video is already hilarious, but the comment section is also bonkers. People are very passionate about which states require both front and back license plates, just back ones, or just front ones. There are also many libertarians joining in on the conversation debating on if the meme version is rude or epically amazing. Overall, however, it seems like the viewers of the video are also stoked on the prank.

If “DONT TREAD ON ME” is a symbol of freedom, then what does “no step on snek” mean? Perhaps it also expresses freedom while also calling the government dumb because it had to dumb it down for them? Or maybe it's just a new creative take on the original since memes are the epitome of today's pop culture. Whatever you think, we still give this prank an A+ anyways.
