Is Throwing Your Dog's Poo Bag into Someone Else's Trashcan Wrong? TikToker Sparks Heated Debate

When you're walking your dog you better be picking up their droppings, that is the bare minimum for being a good dog owner. You always carry poo bags with you and you pick up your dogs stuff and properly dispose of it. However, this is where things get a little blurry—what trashcans are free game for disposing your poo bag while on a walk?

TikToker Karla aka @orions_charge recently asked her viewers what their view on the situation was. She says she tends to go on walks that last for miles and miles, so she doesn't want to have to carry around a bag full of crap the entire time. “I'd like to think that it would be the neighborly thing to do to allow people to dump their goods at my curbside so that they could enjoy their stroll unencumbered," she says—making a good point.

However, many people in the comment section are not entirely on board with Karla's view. Many are saying that is basically illegal dumping and extremely rude. Others are saying to get tf over it, it's just trash.

Dog Walk Poo Bag Controversy:

Some people are also on the fence, if you can believe there is such a viewpoint in this situation. They say that it entirely depends on the status of the trashcan. Obviously, everyone agrees that it would be completely inappropriate to walk all the way up someone's driveway or onto a porch or something in order to use their trashcan. But it the receptacle is already on the curb awaiting pick up from the garbage truck, then what's the harm in tossing your poo bag in there? The TikToker feels that is the “neighborly” thing to do, while others are appalled.

The TikToker even said that one time a neighbor called the cops on her for using their trashcan and she thinks the issues is becoming an “unspoken war” in her community. The debate is heated in the comment section. Many find it absurd that people can be so possessive of their trashcans, while others think it's disgusting that anyone would even touch a trashcan that isn't theres.

What it really boiled down to, however, is that different communities have different trash pick up rules. Some trash collection is paid for through taxes, while in other places it is a privatized expense for the owners. People don't want to have to deal with other people's dog sh*t, while others don't see the harm in it if it's all getting thrown away anyways.
