Funny But Low-Key Legitimate Questions Americans Have For British People

British culture may be one of the most intriguing to Americans. In many ways we a very similar. We speak the same language, listen to similar music, even watch many of the same TV series. However, there are a few big traits that remind us that we are not the same. The accent is a big one, as well as our swear words and slang, and our food preferences. Marmite? No thanks, we're good.

Non-Americans Roast The Things They Truly Don't Understand About American Schools

There are so many movies and shows about American high schools. They seem extremely cheesy on the TV, but what a lot of non-Americans might not realize is how much of it is kind of accurate. Yes, we do say the pledge every day. We do have hall monitors. We also have cheerleaders and school presidents.

It already feels like I am writing the plot of a new TV show because that is just how ridiculous some of our norms seem.

Non-Americans Expose The Dumbest Thing An American Actually Said To Them

Americans are known for a lot of things. Some stereotypes are cool, like how we are known to have the craziest college experiences, fairly good customer service, and unlimited drink refills. These generalizations don't tend to bother anyone. However, there are less flattering ones as well... Unfortunately, Americans don't have the reputation of being the sharpest tools in the shed. Which, of course, is not always true! But after seeing these comments from TikTok, it might help you understand where this stereotype came from.

Embarrassingly Inaccurate Things Americans Posted On The Internet

Hey, we have all learned our lesson the hard way that what you put on the internet is permanent. Some of us have accidentally posted less-than-desirable selfies, sent a DM to the completely wrong person, or had a friend upload a super embarrassing video of us that nearly went viral. You cannot control the internet, it works in mysterious ways.

One thing is for sure though, some Americans really have a way with words. Sometimes they can't help but expose their... lack of worldliness whenever they post (with much confidence) some serious BS. We American's know that they are not the majority, but it still can be really embarrassing. Maybe this list can be used as motivation to increase funding for public schools? Just a thought.

Weird Stereotypes About America Which Foreigners Found Out Are Actually True

America likes to think that their culture is superior and nothing that they do is weird at all. They expect that everybody looks up to them from other countries and that they are basically the best in every way shape and form. As an American, I don't think I'm very qualified to be the one to burst this bubble, so I'll let Redditors do it for me.

People on Reddit are sharing the weird things that Americans do that they initially thought were just silly stereotypes from films and such, but are actually very true. Some of these cultural norms are less flattering than others.

Tourists Favorite American Food Experiences

There's no denying the fact that America offers up some pretty wild dining experiences. Or just how America chooses to present its food and drink options. Apparently everything in America is served in monstrous portion sizes compared to what the rest of the world is doing. But hey, we've also got great distinguished cuisine options like heaps of spicy buffalo wings that'll melt your insides and have you cursing the next day's visit to the bathroom.

Twitter Roasts Everyone Who Thought 'Via Getty' Was A Real Name

It's only day eight of 2021 and we've already seen maybe one of the dumbest news weeks in US history...and it's still unfolding! As you've probably heard, the Capitol Building in Washington DC was breached on Wednesday by a mob of Trump supporters, one of whom was caught in a photo running off with a US House lectern. Journalist @RyanLizza tweeted the image and cited Getty Images as the source, which caused a lot of unexpected confusion. Many people retweeted the image and called for the arrest of 'Via Getty.' @RyanLizza eventually had to clarify that the man's name is not, in fact, Via Getty, but by then it was too late. The mistake had already gone viral and jokes about Via Getty are still flooding Twitter. We've collected some hilarious reactions to the priceless Twitter gaff that will surely be remembered for a long, long time.

35 Memes & Reactions To The Storming Of The Capitol

Okay, so 2021 isn't quite the fresh start Americans had hoped for, but right-wing insurrection and a literal siege of the US Capitol in the first week of January is a bit extra. Most impressive was the rate at which memes, tweets, Instagram stories, and TikToks were flooding the internet as the storming of the Capitol was still unfolding. Perhaps this says something about society, but we won't go there. Let's just stick to what we know best—memes. And if you're appalled because it seems like we're making light of a dire situation, you can kindly look the other way. Some of us are so jaded that all we can do right now is laugh and cry at the same time.

30 Dank History Memes & Jokes About The Past

It's wild to think that world-changing historical events can be summed up into silly little image macros. I wonder what Marie Antoinette would say if she could see herself depicted in a chad doge vs. virgin cheems meme. It's fun to imagine how memelords a century from now might meme this 'unprecedented time' we're currently experiencing. Will 2020 be an insignificant blip in history to humans of the deep future? Or will 2020 memes get all the upvotes on some futuristic version of r/historymemes? A lot to think about. For now we'll happily continue scrolling through dank history memes about past events.
