The Future King of Chicago is a Corgi After Being Lifted from an Apartment Window like Simba During the Wicker Park Street Fest

Chicago has a beautiful roaring music scene that attracts many people to its streets. Not only the jazz from the roaring ‘20s, but also for all kinds of genres decades after. The windy has been home to many music festivals, like the huge and very popular Lollapalooza. But it's the smaller more local festival “Wicker Park Fest” that is going viral on TikTok right now. Taking place on the Milwaukee Ave., between North Avenue and Paulina Street. You not only get to enjoy awesome contemporary acts, but you get to soak up the historical streets of Chicago. 

This year before the gritty futuristic-riot girl band Cherry Glazerr took the headliner stage, there was an unplanned opener—a dog in a window. 

Since the festival takes place on the streets, that also means people who happen to live on that street get an at-home view of the fun shenanigans going on below. One apartment with had a corgi who seemed excited about the crowd of people outside. His humans decided to show him off and lifted him up in the window like Simba from The Lion King. When this happened the crowd roared in excitement and cheer the little baby on. 

One person (@nativesarahb) in the crowd posted a video of the new Simba of Chicago being presented to his people. She shouts, “one more time!” indicating that they've been putting him up and down with the crowd cheering multiple times now. The huge crowd is silent in anticipation and then the second the little wiggly corgi gets lifted up, they go wild. 

Crowd POV:

A few days before the person in the crowd posted their own video, the Corgi's humans (@hieronymiss or should I say his royal court?) posted a video of them lifting the sweet baby to the crowd from inside of the apartment. It is their only video on their page and the reveal nothing else of the budding prince. The people of Chicago need to know more of their future king! What is his name? Does he like belly rubs? How wiggly is his cute lil corgi booty?? We demand to know more about the future leader! 

Apartment POV:

The TikTok algorithm, apparently, is favoring both of these points of view because viewers seem to see one right after the other while doom scrolling through their “for you” section and it has been peek entertainment. It isn't like in the morning they see the video and then hours later when the open the app again after work the see the other POV. It happens way faster than that. TikTokers are seeing one POV of the Simba corgi and then a few videos later or even right after, they are seeing the second POV.

The entire epic scene is getting compared to all kinds of nostalgic pop culture moments—not just the epic presentation of Simba to his kingdom, but viewers are also saying it gives off the same vibe as the talent show episode from Spongebob—"That one episode of SpongeBob when he sticks his hand out from behind the curtain and everyone starts cheering," one viewer commented. 

He truly is the new king of Chicago now. All bow down to the Corgi of Chicago! Though his name is currently unknown, we will come to learn more about you and love you. For a long, peaceful, and benevolent rule! LONG LIVE THE KING CORGI OF CHICAGO!
