The public education system in the U.S. is already a mess. Heck, even the private school rules and regulations can be faulty. And we won't even get into the safety for these kids once they're in school. It's exhausting hearing all of the awful things happening within our education system. So it's refreshing to hear about one former teacher doing her best to make a change.
Isabel (Raisbeck-)Brown was a former high school teacher. However, she got sick and tired of watching the school system crush the individuality and creativity of her students. So she quit teaching to start a business in student advocacy. What this means is that she has made it her entire life mission to stand up for these students who are getting chewed up and spit out by the unfair treatment of students in the U.S. education system.
It's valiant and much needed for many students. She takes to TikTok to spread the word of her business and share stories of how it has helped many students and their families. She also shares some videos of the actual conversations she's had with certain education administrators. She makes sure to keep the administrator she is having a discussion with anonymous, but she shares her end of the conversation and you can really see how hard she is working for these kids. She takes no-sh*t from some of these very Karen administrators, for lack of a better description. They can be argumentative and try to be intimidating to Brown, but she never backs down and makes sure her point gets across.
We shared a recent video of her's where she is standing up for a student below.
Standing up for a student who keeps getting suspended because she is continuously tardy due to no fault of her own.
