There are a lot of things in life that are unethical, but not technically illegal. For example, passing gas in an elevator just before getting off at your floor is disgusting, but not actually a crime. Similarly, when people sing so loud at a concert they overpower the sound of the actual band playing (I'm looking at you, Swifties), that's not technically illegal either. However, there are a few instances where illegality and wrongful behavior come together in the form of a perfectly inhumane crime.
In the workplace, these acts are left only for the scummiest of individuals. In our next story, one man was fired only days after notifying management about the congratulation-worthy news of his girlfriend becoming pregnant, sparking a huge debate on ethics and legality in the comment section.
Ultimately, I think that the man who was fired deserves a lawyer's opinion on this particular termination, but we'll let you be the judge on how one man's baby-news turned sour for the higher-ups in management at his company. Scroll onward for the full videos showing how supervisors fumbled Tommy's termination and proved exactly how scummy the corporate world can be.

The man's manager, Taylor, received her employees good news in a rather weird way. Normally, you'd expect people to say congratulations, or share in the excitement of your pregnancy announcement, but she simply dismisses Tommy (our protagonist) with lifted brows and a nervous look.
She goes on to comment, “that may affect work”, which is the first red flag we noticed in Tommy's first person POV account of his termination.
When Tommy announces his pregnancy to his manager, she mentions that he's about to go on vacation. When he returns, he's asked to join a Zoom call with the HR department. Although Taylor fervently denies that the ‘news share last week’ had nothing to do with their decision, it comes off pretty shady.
Taylor claims that it was an 'extremely difficult' decision to make, but in light of Tommy sharing the news of his potential paternity leave coming up, it leaves us speculative.
Taylor flees the call without any further feedback and leaves the HR director to pick up the pieces.
Tommy is naturally confused and disheveled over the news, asking “did I get fired?”. Flabbergasted and horrified, he proceeds to probe the HR director for answers. She has none that are satsfactory.
In classic corporate jargon, the HR director is extremely deflective and dismissive, pawning the blame onto other managers and being a shield for the higher-ups. Tommy tries to determine if he was wrongfully terminated and discriminated against, but seems to have hopes that his managers weren't THAT inhumane…. right?
Tommy handles his impromptu ‘off-boarding’ with grace and keeps his temper under wraps. But as a viewer, it's tough not to get fired up at the injustices of management in this instance. Given this particular POV, the audience went off in the comment section, offering legal advice, commiserating, and lending a hand to a man who desperately needed it.
The original video has since been deleted along with Tommy's entire account.
