Robert Sterling @RobertMSterling Follow Going on a two-week vacation without your newborn baby is insane behavior. This is borderline child abuse.

AITA for not watching my newborn niece for two weeks while her parents visit Italy? My brother Kevin's wife, Kacey, just had a baby. Now, they are badgering the family because they have a two-week vacation planned to Italy in four months. I explained to my brother that a baby doesn't just magically appear. I feel like they had plenty of time to either reschedule or cancel this trip. Also, two weeks is a very long time to leave a baby. I'm not watching the baby, even in shifts between our parents

Robert Sterling @RobertMSterling ⚫ 1d: Replying to @Robert MSterling Especially when you can literally take the baby for free. Lap infants don't require a paid flight. Babies don't add to the cost of the hotel or meals. There's zero reason not to take the baby with you and a long list of reasons why leaving the baby with relatives is horrible.

Super Human Epoch @SuperHu... .1d: Replying to @RobertMSterling Yeah, no, I would not take responsibility of a newborn either -- especially when it's for a vacation.

... Hooks @IAm_Hooks 1d . Replying to @RobertMSterling These people fundamentally do not understand parenthood. D

PaulKforPres'32 @PaulKforPres. 1d Replying to @RobertMSterling These people didn't want to be parents. They wanted a baby. Massive difference

ICAN OURNALISM Rachel Metz @rachelmetz. 1d Replying to @RobertMSterling And a trip with an infant (like between 3-6 months) can actually be awesome! One of the best vacations I had was when we took our then-3-month-old to Hawaii. She was so portable! We nursed everywhere and hung out and it was great.

Andrew Lynch ❤ @andrewglynch Replying to @Robert MSterling Follow As the parent of a 4 month old it's hard enough leaving her for like two hours, which we've done... *checks notes* twice. Couldn't imagine even leaving her overnight at this point, let alone for two weeks. A firm NTA in this case (poor kid though, if this is how it's started, can't imagine how these people will fare as parents over the next 18 years)

max gagliardi @max_gagliardi - 1d Replying to @RobertMSterling Newborns are so easy to travel with. Just take the baby. They won't even have pay for a plane ticket. You can strap a 4 month old to your chest and they will sleep all day

Andrea S. James @AndreaSJames Replying to @RobertMSterling Follow I have so many thoughts, but ultimately, I think that mimetic desire is causing people to want what they see on Instagram. There will always be beauty out there in the world. But it's temporary. It's fake if its not yours. Somehow, we have to help people see the inherent beauty of their own humble, messy life.

FeralHouseWife, @FeralClassic 1d • The idea that your life doesn't need to change when you have kids has really messed some people up.

superfun site @chickenstrip007.18h People do take vacations without their children but usually not when said children are under 1. Sounds like they want a nanny lifestyle without actually having a nanny!

Q@QueenQui_ . 1d I have a sneaking suspicion that the wife doesn't actually want to leave the baby, her brother does. And that he's trying to get family on board to watch the baby so he can convince her to go on this trip baby free because he doesn't want to be burdened during his vacation
