Local teacher pet sits cute neighborhood doggo for extra money, but gets ghosted by Karen owner who refuses to fork over the cash: 'Why won't she pay me?'

We hope you're having a great weekend so far, animal fam. One of the great things about our job is that we don't usually have to work on the weekends. But you know who does? Teachers. Teachers literally work all the time, and they're not even paid that much! When they're not in school, they're grading papers, planning lessons, and helping out with school activities. And in this case, it turns out that some of them even pet sit for a little extra cash on the weekends. Except it can all go wrong if someone refuses to pay.

The local teacher in this post decided to dog sit her neighbor's cute dog for nine days, but it all went downhill when she returned the delightful doggo to the Karen owner's home…. without her being there. She then continued to contact "Karen," but has never heard back despite sending an invoice and multiple messages. So now, this teacher is left without payment and completely ghosted. How can you ghost a neighbor? The audacity is just too high. We would never be comfortable showing our faces around the neighborhood ever again. Just pay her the money, it's not worth it.

This is why you should A) get everything in writing and B) take at least half of the money upfront. Then, even if they bail or ghost you, you at least get half of what you are worth.
