Look, I'd probably give my friends and family discounts and special treatment if I owned a restaurant, but not if they acted this entitled about it. Freebies should be considered a gift and received with gratitude, not expected and demanded.

I know someone that owns a coffee shop (more of a coffee truck, actually), and before he set some firm boundaries, he had multiple relatives "forget" to pay because they expected family perks to be part of the deal. But the truth is, giving into special treatmeat doesn't just chip away at profits, it undermines fairness and professional boundaries. And honestly, be they business-related or not, it's incredibly important to stick to your principles in the face of entitlement.
