I agree that the parents' reasoning here is super weird, but ultimately, it is their choice and what they say goes! If parents say no gifts, then that's what it should be with no questions asked.

Aunt buys 4-year-old nephew too many toys against parents’ wishes, they accuse her of ruining his birthday by spoiling him
Family birthdays can be emotional enough on their own, but when the child being celebrated is a long-awaited miracle baby, the stakes feel even higher. Everyone wants the day to be perfect, meaningful, and full of joy. This sort of pressure can sometimes lead to tension in unexpected places.
One well-meaning aunt recently tried to give her nephew a thoughtful, handmade birthday gift as well as some Lego sets, only to be accused of "ruining" the entire celebration. What was meant to be a sweet gesture became a debate about boundaries, spoiling children, and how much influence extended family members should have over parenting.
My two cents here is that no one should ever give anything to children that their parents don't approve of; it's simply a line that should never be crossed! It doesn't matter how absurd or illogical it may seem to you. The fact that this aunt went against the parents' very clear requests not to bring all these presents just proves to me that the gesture was more for her than it was for the kid.
