While in her delirious state, she thought these were the most hilarious things to hit the web. After sleeping on it, though, her opinion changed.
Memes are life. Memes are what made and still make the Internet. We basically speak in memes now. Feeling nihilistic? “Guess I'll die!” Feeling silly? “Ermahgerd!” Feeling sad? Hello crying Shaq. Literally, life on the Internet would be unbearable if it weren't for memes. They started getting more advanced with the video app Vine and now the popular video app TikTok keeps them growing. The limit for memes does not exisit.
TikToker Drea aka @dreapunz got the jokes and the memes. Her videos are all centered around sarcasm and comedy and get her followers giggling. One of her most popular videos that is now starting to turn into a reoccurring series on her TikTok are about the memes she tries to make while fighting off the drowsiness from her sleeping meds. It's common knowledge to anyone taking sleeping medication or has in the past that if you try to stay awake after taking the meds, weird things will happen. Sometimes those weird things are comedy gold, like Drea's memes.
She started the series because of how hilarious she thought the memes were in her medicated delirious state. But then when she woke up, she thought they were so bad and made no sense she just had to share them with the internet. Memes with Vladimir Putin, Count Dracula, even the infamous Jekyll and Hyde.
However, Drea is too quick to judge, because her viewers love the content. Though the TikToker thinks her memes are dumb once she's awoken from the sleeping meds, TikTok begs to differ. “That first one [meme] is going to end the war," one commenter said. “These are golden wdym [what do you mean],” another posted.
Drea is obviously her harshest critic, but after going viral for the content, she still shares the sleep deprived memes she creates. Viewers are loving the series and are eating up ever unique meme Drea makes.
