Fire Department Discovers Abandoned Puppy While Responding to a Fire, Dog is Now Being Fostered by One of the Firefighters

The Sacramento Fire Department at Station 19 recently came across a tiny unexpected victim while they were putting a fire out under the eastbound I80 Bridge. The area was filled with smoke and as they came to the rescue they found an itty bitty terrified little puppy all alone. Without hesitation the firefighters took the little guy in and started posting about him. The small puppy had no collar and most definitely had no family. Animal control was initially the plan to handle this situation, but the tiny baby stole all the firefighters' hearts and other plans were arranged.

When they found the tiny pup in the debris fire there was plastic melted to his head and body and he was so scared he was shaking like a leaf. He even had a few minor burns on the back of his legs—the entire situation was heartbreaking.

Small Puppy Rescued

Though everyone on TikTok is rooting for the little guy to become the new fire station dog, he's currently being fostered by one of the firefighters, Mike Thawley. This particular firefighter is known by his colleagues as a "dog whisperer." You can see in some of the videos that the pup follows Thawley around and loves to snuggle with the guy. The millions of viewers on TikTok truly hope Thawley will officially adopt the pup and then have him trained to be the official fire station dog. Currently, the puppy is up for adoption at Front Street Animal house, a local rescue, but we all know what the people really want to see as the happy ending for this little guy.

Pup Makes the News

The entire adorable situation become so viral that even the local Sacramento news reported on it, giving a cute little interview to the pup and the foster firefighter. This isn't the first time Thawley has fostered a pup. Previously he helped foster an abandoned pit bull suffering from mange. The firefighter helped this pup grow to be a beautiful thriving dog and eventually even adopted him. He's a huge advocate for pit bulls and new that this new pup would fit right at home with him for now.

Thawley just hopes that the new pup's popularity will help advocate for pit bulls and other “bully” breeds and show the world how loving these creatures can be.
