Hummingbirds are one of the more well-known birds around town. In parks or in people's yards you can see sugar water feeders for them and them flying around with their winds looking like a blur because they flutter so quickly. It's not common for them to approach humans or so freely hang around us, but every now and then a human and hummingbird connect. Which is what happened to TikToker @badhawkfamily!

The TikToker was outside when he found a itty bitty smol little hummingbird all alone on the ground. He picked it up to make sure it was ok and let it have a rest safely on his palm as he figured out what the next step should be. As he was sitting there with the baby bird on his palm, something unexpected happened—the mama hummingbird came down after her baby.

Baby Bird Found, Mama Comes Through

It's actually pretty common for baby birds to fall out of nests or even mothers to kick them out when they don't have the means to take care of them. This mama hummingbird however, did not want to give up on her baby. As the little bird rested on the man's palm, the mama flew right up to him and her baby and checked in on the little guy. She tried to grab the baby with her claws, but it didn't work.

Many of the viewers commented saying that if the bird smells any sort of human touch on their babies, they instantly reject them. However, that is simply not true with hummingbirds. In fact, these kinds of birds do not even have a very strong sense of smell. So, no smelly human was going to stop her from getting her human back.

Update 2

Eventually, after a couple tries and fails, the baby hummingbird was able to gather the strength to fly back home. The small thing tried several times before first, however. Each time it was too weak to carry on. But after a nice long rest, with the surprising supervision of the mama bird, the baby go her strength and flew back to the nest. It was a pressure once in a lifetime moment to experience.
