Big shoutout to davepollotart for the terrific work here. These are the kind of paintings you can stare at in peace, and for a while at that.
"Veteran"This was a framed canvas print that I found at a home decor store. I added an older Mario and his hat (trying to match the uniform). I always paint in oils, and I'm pretty careful about what I'll paint into. I know that there are a number of people who really hate this sort of thing, but I do stick mainly to reproductions (framed canvas/board prints). Occasionally I will find some mass produced hotel art and use that, but I'll do my best to make sure I'm not ruining someone else's original work.
Start SmallThis was one of those hotel art pieces that was given to me by a friend. It had a tear in the canvas which I patched and then covered up with the ant.
Elements of a good fightI found this framed print on board at a goodwill. It sat in my basement for some time before I figured out what I wanted to do with it.
MediumA friend of mine gave me this and asked me to do something with it...
All the world's a stage
Always a man, always a cityI just finished this one. The background was a knockoff of another very popular series of paintings that all looked very similar. It just screamed Columbia to me...
