Wonder Twins Theory: 'Stranger Things' Fans Get Deep into a Theory That Might Change Your Entire Outlook of the Show

If you haven't watched Stranger Things Season 4 yet, then be warned, there are definitely some spoilers in this riveting theory discussion. So, go back and catch up on the show, and then come on over here and add your two sense.

TikToker Hannah aka @soundslikeawhisper recently posted a video explaining her “Wonder Twins” theory about the show. It focuses on the sibling pairings of the characters and also goes deep into the character Will. (If you think about it, the show kicked off all around Will, so it only makes sense that he starts to become one of the main focuses again.) Hannah's theory says:

“When Will tells El, ‘we’ll fix it together.' When Dustin rolled an 11 in DnD and it wasn't enough. When a brother and sister were the pair that won the basketball game/ DnD game. When Dustin made a joke about needing Will. When Will could interact with El in the void while no one else could. When Will already has an established connection to the Upside Down. When every ending has a beginning and the first episode of Stranger Things was ‘The Vanishing of Will Byers.’"

“I am a clown and this is my circus. Here’s how the Wonder Twins theory can still win.”

If you've watched the show, then all this already makes sense. But if you're still a little lost, basically what Hannah is saying is that nothing can be done without a pair, and that Will is actually El's pair, because they have that sibling bond now. She also suggests that Will started lost in the Upside and is going to end up lost in the Upside Down for who knows how long.

To clear up some background on where "The Wonder Twins” theory comes from: The Wonder Twins are DC characters from the late ‘70s. The characters are Zan and Jayna, who are a brother and sister duo from a planet called Exxor (sometimes spelled Exor). The two have a genetic link to an ancient ancestor that gives them the power of shape-shifting—however, this power also isolates them in their community.

So in Stranger Things terms, the theory is that Will and El have a genetic link to the Upside Down. Fans of the show see this theory and have much to add on to it.
