The Internet Is Very Confused About Why TF Jimmy Fallon Just Had Vecna Do the “Mentos Challenge” on TikTok

Yes, yes, all the Stranger Things fans are excited that vol. 2 of season 4 is finally out. We're definitely all going to take the long weekend to catch up on the epic sci-fi saga. And many TV shows are celebrating by doing bits that have to do with the show. Bit whatever TF Jimmy Fallon just did is really confusing people. Like… wat?

The official TikTok account for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently posted a video of the antagonist of Stranger Things Season 4 Vecna dressed in normal everyday human attire, attempt something called the “Mentos Challenge.” This is apparently when you try to drink the diet coke that comes gushing out of a 2 liter soda bottle after you drop some Mentos inside of it. 

Fans of the show who have come across the video or very confused in so many ways… First and most popular question is, “Jimmy, why??” Second, is “what??” Many are just mad about the spoiler alert (there are non). But mostly just what in tarnation is going on here? Who on Fallon's team was like, "you what would be a great way to market the new vol. of Stranger Things Season 4…? Venca getting his face completely obliterated with some Diet Coke. I mean, maybe the show needed to advertise Stranger Things, Mentos, and Coca-Cola, so this was an attempt at killing three birds with one stone?…

Whatever it is, it has the Internet dead. Viewers on TikTok are reacting how any normal person would react to seeing something like this, whether you're familiar with Stranger Things or not. It's a dude, dressed as a weird monster dude, in a regular old button up and jeans, trying to guzzle 2-liters of diet Coke… Like, who in the world would look at that and thing, “oh yeah, checks out"???

TikTokers will debate in the comments sections of the most random videos about the tiniest little most random insignificant little thing. But it was Jimmy Fallon (or someone on the Jimmy Fallon show) dressed as Stranger Things' Vecna in human close doing the absurd “Mentos Challenge” to unite the app and have them all agreeing on something. And that something just happens to simply be, “Jimmy, what??” Either way, I guess the video did what it was meant to do, however, and that was to get a bunch of people to see it and talk about it… I guess?
