Single Dad Vents About Feeling Inadequate on TikTok, Gets Interrupted by Toddler to Let Him Know He's Doing a Great Job

Being a parent is not easy. That's literally the first thing any veteran parent tells you when you're thinking about having kids. It's even more difficult for single parents because now you have to do all that rearing on your own. It's like being the only team member on a soccer team, but the soccer ball is a fragile baby that needs you to protect it from getting kicked by the other players and you still have to get it passed the goalie, but you have to do it gently without traumatizing the soccer ball… I'm not a parent at all, but that's how I imagine it…

Anyways, TikToker Noah loves being a father and embraces that identity on the app as @bigdadguy. Though his videos usually show him having a beautiful time with his daughter, he is a single parent and it's not always sunshine and rainbows. He recently posted a video that started as him venting about how he sometimes feels like an inadequate paren—however, his daughter shut that pity party down real quick.

He was mid-thought about how he feels like sometimes he's “not doing a good job as a parent” when you see the tiny hand of his toddler daughter come into the picture. He looks closer and sees that she is putting a sticker on him. When he reads the sticker, he almost bursts into tears. He was saying how he didn't feel like a good parent, but the sticker said “great job!”

His daughter was seriously like, “yeah dad, you aren't doing a good job as a parent, you're doing a GREAT job!” Sometimes toddlers might seem like they don't truly understand the gravity of a situation, but then they drop this affirmation bomb on you and it's the most spiritual and adorable moment in the world. The face of Noah went from struggling parent to proud father.

“Hits me right in the words of affirmation”

TikTok viewers are enamored by the entire experience. Whether they're a parent themself or not, they can appreciate this tender moment. One TikToker said, “her timing is divine.” Another posted, “no, but why’s this the most spiritual thing I’ve ever seen?” One person even shouted in all caps saying, “YOU HAD NO RIGHT MAKING ME CRY LIKE THAT.”

As a single parent, sometimes you need a little encouragement and affirmation—and nothing's better than getting that support directly from your child.
