Cat Goes From Extra Floofy to Walking Around Like He’s Wearing 1960’s Fur Go-Go Boots, Sparks Controversy on Cat Grooming

Getting your cat groomed is not as common as it is with dogs. Many dog breeds need to get hair cuts often and basically every breed will do something that warrants a bath time like rolling on something dead or taking a dip in the mud. But cats are pretty self-sufficient and are constantly “bathing” themselves. Still, it's good to give them a little grooming every now and then—some cats even need a good buzz down from time to time.

TikToker Lexie aka @lexie_mc2 recently got her sweet kitty cat a nice little haircut for the summer. Her extra fluffy cat was a puff ball of silky black hair that basically made him look like an anime character. However, Lexie said that her cat had a very heavy undercoat and was prone to matting no matter how often she would brush him. Plus, now that it's summer time, have all this floof is extra uncomfortable for the little fella

So she got him a little buzz down, but not without style! Now her feline cutie looks like he's in fashionable vintage 1960s fur go-go boots. It's simply adorable and frankly I'm jealous of the style.

“These fur boots were made for walking.”

However, many people in the comment section are in shock wondering if this is borderline abuse (even though the cat looks extra fresh). Viewers are commenting asking the question why like they are appalled at the action.

The TikToker posted a response video explaining why, and many other long-haired cat owners chimed in with their own explanations. Sometimes cats overheat in the summer and it's smarter to shave them; sometimes they get so matted it's better to shave them down and start over; etc. The commenters who were in shock and awe are nowhere to be found on the update videos, showing that an explanation actually did the job this time (which is a surprising reaction for the internet, imo).

Now, this once floofy kitty can rock the summer feeling cooled down and looking extra fashionable. Rather than gathering matts and over heating from the heavy coat. It'll grow back by winter time and she can sport a whole new style by then—a true feline trendsetter.
