Many employees have had their fair share of being overworked by bosses who only know how to boss people around. What happened to human decency? When unrealistic expectations are set by toxic upper management, it's expected that employees further down on the food chain communicate their stressors and worries. Quality work can't get done if workers are unhappy with the way they're treated. After all, it is up to the boss to cultivate a positive work environment based on trust, appreciation, and appropriate communication.
The employee in this story speaks up for their team when unrealistic expectations are set by their boss, in addition to door-to-door sales already being a strenuous, tolling line of work. It's easy to take sides in this case; all of the employees simply wanted to communicate their worries about new quotas, especially because the boss was already threatening to cut shifts to those who could not complete tasks promptly. The boss takes matters to the extreme when he fires the entire team. In the update, he is withholding pay until the company property is returned—which is extremely illegal. As a result, the employee takes to the internet to see what their options are moving forward. Unsurprisingly, everyone has a multitude of great advice.
