When things in the world go awry, animal lovers' first thoughts are with the hoomans and animals of hoomans who are going through a ruff time. The reason why many folks adopt pets, aside from the fact that they want a furry companion for a long while, is that animals need love and extra help to get by in this dog-eat-dog world. Hoomans domesticated animals so they can hold them tight and take care of them, so it's only right that we continue to do so, especially if they need us desperately.
We're sure you've seen the Los Angeles fires flood your timelines and news feeds. The devastation is unquantifiable. So many folks had to evacuate their homes in a bind and unfortunately, had to drop their fur babies off at the shelter as they find a safe haven for themselves. It's easy to think, "Well, just bring your pet with you!" But the reality of the situation is, that these fur babies will be safer in shelters with staff who know how to properly care for them than staying in environments that are not dog and cat-friendly. No loving pet pawrent would hand over their furry child unless the situation was dire—but luckily, there are plenty of hoomans in Los Angeles who have the means to foster these cats and pups until their forever pawrent gets back on their feet or, when they find a new pawrent who wants to have them in their life furever.
Foster pawrents from near and far are heading to Los Angeles shelters in hopes they can make life a bit easier for dogs and/or cats. One user on TikTok, @stephandtuck, decided to foster 9-year-old "Loki" (who they also call Fuego,) and they couldn't be happier. Once they brought him home, he took a nice dog nap on the couch as he took in his new "vacation" home. It won't be long before Loki finds his furever, because the user exclaims that he is "the sweetest boy" she's ever met.
