TikTokers are Keeping Everyone in the Loop on the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard Case in 3-Minutes or Less

If you don't know the case of Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, let TikTok help you get in the loop. The couple were married for about two years before the divorced. In the divorce settlement, Heard received $7-million and the two went on their way. Except, do messy breakups every really truly end? In 2018, Heard wrote an Op-Ed for the Washington Post accusing Johnny Depp of domestic abuse. Because of this accusation, Depp is now suing the Washington Post and Amber Heard for defamation. Now, the court case has become back and forth stories account alleged abuse from both parties.

Most TikTokers seem to be on team Johnny, with the hashtag #justiceforjohnnydepp trending. However, many content creators are also trying to approach the case unbiasedly. For example, TikToker Cami Twomey has been posting recaps and summaries of the trial on her TikTok. The videos are getting lots of viewers and many of them on Johnny's side. However, though she has stated she has her own opinions, she also says she is trying to keep her reporting on the trial unbiased.

However, then there are some TikTokers talking about the trial that are heavily biased and make it very well known. For example, TikToker Dani Dell’Olio has been posting many videos of the event that have gone viral. She very decidedly shares her views on the matter at hand and is very much on team Johnny.

Trial Day 5

Though it is possible to find unbiased accounts and of course very biased accounts on the side of Johnny, TikTok is actually not a very nice place for those who might be on Amber Heard's side. You might be able to find a few accounts, but none that are really reviewing the trial or even providing any support for their claims. An account @amberheardisinnocent does exist, but it is simply black screens with texts saying the support Heard and think Johnny should go to jail. But even in the comments, pro-Johnny fans flood the section defending Johnny's back. One person even suggest that someone who works for Heard probably set up the TikTok account. But still, it does not provide any solid evidence or even share any thorough explanation of their view points like the other TikTok accounts on the trial do.

Either way, TikTok has been a great source to gather information on the defamation trial, video clips, biased opinions, and more—especially if you're a Johnny Depp fan.
