Well, I stayed with the folks through lunch. Mom had a hankering for tacos so we made them together. I fixed drawers in Dad's office, fixed his keyboard slider, flattened and adjusted a shelf liner for Mom and took Dad through a spreadsheet I made up to help him get organized for his taxes. I was about fifty yards from my driveway when I remembered I wanted to pick up the library book but I'd lost the momentum. Mentally I was already in the house sitting at my computer desk. I'll get it tomorrow. I did figure out that puzzle without resorting to cheating. I needed to wander around again with a fresh brain to find the resource that got me out of that level. I've seen a mechanical throwing arm they have for tennis balls for dogs but I doubt Becky could calm down enough to reload the thing the way the little Doxie did in the video. There probably is some toy out there that tosses PBs for the cat. If not, there probably ought to be.

Alrightee...procedure is done without incident. Now we'll give it a couple days to let the steroid reduce the inflammation and hopefully Dad will get some relief. They do traverse a lot of territories in the Mallorean so a bit of study was probably a good idea. It's too bad you can't get a machine tht shoots paper balls for Elf all on it's own for the times you don't feel like playing.

It is far tougher to settle a cat into a routine than it is a dog, isn't it? Becky has a highly predictable routine lined out for her that includes plenty of napping time but there's always an excursion for her benefit. I'd get frustrated with zoomies at bedtime. Does he do that on his own or does he try to include you in his merriment? Wouldn't it be great to have the power to swing temps ten degrees in either direction just by swapping out your thermometer. You'd give the environmentalists fits. It will be a busy morning but if it ends with Dad being able to move without pain again it will all be worth it. I suppose the next couple of days will likely tell the tale. Did you pick up the new book? I'm going to try to remember to do that on the way home today for Pratchett.

Mmmm...good noms tonight. Costco does stock very meaty baby backs. They also have St. Louis Style ribs which Safeway never has. They do full spare-ribs rather than trim off that meat flap and such. I'll have to grab some St. Louis another time. Yep, Pratchett #2 is just waiting for me. I'm looking forward to another sampling. I hit the puzzles hard this afternoon and had a great run going but I find myself stuck again. I'll give it another break but tomorrow will be busy getting Dad to the doc for his epidural. I'd keep both thermometers. I'll bet I could come up with a rationalization every day to choose one or the other as the correct temperature. I'd just take it as a creative exercise....can't let that skill atrophy. Is Elf supervising your interwebs or is he napping elsewhere?

You should have kept your LOL..there's no reason we can't collaborate. Yippee...you're on to another book. I got a notice this morning that my book is now waiting over at the library. I'll pick it up tomorrow afternoon. I did a Costco trip this afternoon and snagged some awesome looking babybacks...guess what's for dinner. I did a bunch more puzzles this afternoon. The early ones were more static...with time to wander from place to place and poke and prod to figure stuff out. It changed somewhat so my character had to move more rapidly and think on the fly. the puzzles were easier but you had less time to ponder. I prefer tougher slower moving puzzles but we'll see how it plays out. There is something of a plot as I'm trying to escape from a facility. It's been a fun game. There was an earlier version so I'll likely buy that one and play it as well.

Good grief, you are so right on that point. It must take a day per week just to undo damage outside the play room. The owners must have to get "Janitor in a 4,000 Gallon Drum."

The guy in that LOL needs better flying skills. Maybe she should have gone with Mr. Wright. Sorry...that was bad...but it's still early here and the coffee hasn't completely kicked in. I worked on that puzzle for a bit this morning but wimped out and got a hint from the internet. I really was on the right track and had most of the mechanisms worked out but missed a key step. The puzzle after that one fell to me fairly quickly which helped to salve my tender male ego. I really hope I don't wimp out again. Those raccoons are amazingly clever and the little ones really are cute. I used to rent an apartment that overlooked the 8th green at a local pitch and putt. I remember standing in my living room early one morning with a cup of coffee in my hands while I looked out the sliding glass doors onto the patio. I watched a mother raccoon with four babies in tow stroll past on my patio. It surprised the hell out of me. Did you finish those last few pages?

Any nasties behind the frig are safe from any hint of curiosity from me. Did the raccoons win? Were they able to break into all the garbage cans and sneak off with the goodies? I've really been enjoying that new game Portal 2. It's interesting to poke around and see what is in a room and how it reacts to my messing with it. Sooner or later One figures out how to manipulate all the different pieces to come up with the solution. I had to take a break from the last puzzle I had thrown at me. I've figured parts of it out but I can't get at the parts that I think will unlock the rest...yet. I'll go back to it when my mind is fresher.

I shudder to think what it looks like behind my frig these days. I'll deal with it when it finally craps out. Yeah, cleaning the frig is not the most exciting task one might undertake but it's satisfying in the end just the same. That's one that won't appear on your list again for a while. How fun that you'll soon be into another book. The whole Mallorean series is very comfortable to slip into and yet the characters have matured and are facing different things...kinda fun.
