Woman with Ovarian Cyst that Makes Her Appear 9-Months Pregnant Does a Hilarious Maternity Photoshoot & Throws a Shower for "Cystiana"

An ovarian cyst is not a fun medical issues to have. It can be extremely painful and cause all kinds of complications. TikToker Raquel Rodriguez Soto, however, is making the best of her ovarian cyst-uation. 

Over five years ago Raquel's ovarian cyst was already getting larger than usual. It should have been removed that year, but in true U.S.A. health care fashion, she was gaslight and pushed aside for several more years. Now, the cyst is a full foot in diameter, basically meaning she carrying a nine-month old fetus-sized cyst… 

Since she already looks pregnant, she's decided to take advantage of the perks, like having a fun little photoshoot and throwing a baby shower, or in her case a “cyst shower." She's named the cyst “Cystiana" and literally just “delivered” her yesterday—and by delivered we mean she got it surgically removed with a six-hour open surgery. So, when it really comes down to it, it's scary stuff, but Raquel has a wonderful sense of humor and seems to be feeling positive–especially after all her Cystiana celebrations.

She says her bloodwork showed a little bit of a concern for cancer, but the doctors didn't find any cancer anywhere else in her body and she is healthy in every other way, so they're confident that it is most likely benign. Even though she's had lots of fun with her little Cystiana, she is excited to get it removed. 

Her friends threw her the baby cyst shower and even had a banner that said “It's a cyst!” Raquel also did a maternity shoot or a “cysternity” shoot with her photographer friend that looks exactly how maternity shoots go. If you had no idea it was a cyst, you would 100% think this woman is pregnant. In fact, she also shares some of the non-medical downsides to the cyst like not being allowed on rides at the amusement park because you can't ride them if you're pregnant and getting the more judgmental and concerning looks when she's out drinking at the bar.

This is a beautiful sense of humor to have during such a medical crisis like this, especially after everything the medical system put Raquel through. We all hope it was a successful “delivery" of baby Cystiana and we hope Raquel all the best to come!
