Movie Theater Manager Successfully Removes Male Karen Throwing a Hissy Fit by Using "Toddler Mom" Energy

Oh lord, don't get us started talking about Karens. What even creates a Karen?? It can't solely be boomer-energy white privilege?? When a Karen gets going, there's no stopping them. It doesn't matter if they''re right or wrong, they have to have the last word. You can either feed into this insatiable rude energy, or ignore it. Recently, these construction workers just laughed at a Karen throwing a tantrum and that seemed to work. But so far, there aren't many solutions to dealing with a Karen.

Karen has to have her male counterpart and we'll call that a Ken. Ken has the same exact energy. They have to get their way or else everyone else will suffer. Recently. TikToker @hawnted posted a Ken throwing a hissy fit in a movie theater. The TikToker was just there to see the new Batman, but this Ken was making that difficult. Nowadays, when you go to the movies you get an assigned seat with the purchase of your ticket. This Ken was not sitting in the correct seat and was asked to please move to his assigned seat. But being a male-Karen aka a Ken, instead of acknowledging the mistake and simply moving, he chose mayhem.

The Ken was playing every part of a toddler tantrum but the falling to the ground and flailing of the arms and legs. The initially theater employee was having a very hard time trying to get him to comply. He was asking him politely to move and trying to stay professional and calmly explain to him why he had to move, but the Ken was not having it. Ken was right and the movie theater was in the wrong. That's when the manager stepped in and instantly approached the Ken with “toddler mom” energy.

She didn't say “quiet coyote” but she basically did in adult form. She kicked off her kindergarten teacher approach to the childish man with, “are you going to listen?” Which got him to finally stop yelling and listen. She very calmly and motherly explained that the rules clearly state he is not allowed to do what he is doing and he is causing a disruption so he will have to move. But if he is a good little boy and listens to the teacher, she'll reward him with a lollipop… I mean a refund.

“I was just tryna see batman…”

The toddler mom approach was successful! The Ken finally started to not yell and agreed to leave. Though he had to get the last word in saying, “I still think I'm being the bigger person here” and then shouts sarcastically for everyone to enjoy the movie! So now we know, to end a Karen interaction just laugh at the situation and walk away and to end a Ken interaction use the “toddler mom” approach.
