Distressed Pigeon Hops on the Lap of Girl at a Bar, He Won't Leave Her Side for Days, So She Adopts Him

Did you know that pigeons are the oldest domesticated bird in the world? You'd think that would be more common pet bird-types like a parrot or a parakeet. But nope, it's the pigeon. In fact, pigeons have a much longer and happier life when adopted by a human than when they are out living on the streets. Essentially, all the pigeons that people call “rats with wings” that you see in flocks around the city are more like feral dogs than rats. 

Recently, a girl in the U.K. was at a pub with her pals. She sat down, and to her surprise a haggard looking pigeon hopped on her lap and would not leave. She noticed the little guy was distressed, so she allowed him to rest on her. The pigeon sat like that with her for over three hours. The pub staff told her that he had wandered into the place earlier from another pub where horrible people were kicking him and throwing things at him. A few students saw the abuse and ushered him out of there, he seemed wobbly after that and very disoriented and eventually wondered into the pub that the girl/TikToker was in.

“I'll never turn away a creature in need, am I now the home alone pigeon lady?”

He fell asleep on her shoulder and she knew she had to bring him home and take care of him. He was instantly in love with her and she made him a little home in her own home. After he started looking better, she'd bring him outside to see if he'd go back into the wild and live his life. But it's been days now and he has made himself at home. She asked TikTok what she should do, if there were any experts out there that could give her some advice, and they all said she should keep him. The TikToker has now been adopted by this pigeon and will always have a sweet birdy sidekick. 

Pigeon Update:

The little guy is now living his best life with his new chosen mom and even had his first adorable bath with her just the other day. She still hasn't revealed what she's going to name him, but has suggested she might start a TikTok page just for pigeon content.
