Devastating Times Knowledge Was Dropped On Ignorant People

According to our timelines, pretty much everyone is a medical expert or scientist these days. These "experts" throw around knowledge that is factually untrue and sometimes even downright dangerous. And it's extremely satisfying when these wannabe Einsteins get schooled by actual professionals on social media. This gallery is full of that delicious dunking. We hope these numbskulls learned their lessons and maybe even starting cracking some actual books.

'SJW' Puts Climate-Change Denier In His Place In This Informative Twitter Thread

Former Toronto Sun Editor Lorrie Goldstein claimed in a tweet that no "SJW" would be able to explain the actual science behind climate change. He was in for a significant amount of embarrassment when Writer and Content Strategist Karen Geier replied to the tweet with a whole arsenal of facts and evidence.

By the way, what believing in climate change has to do with being an SJW, we'll never know...

Neil deGrasse Tyson Tweets About Elsa's Facial Dimensions Causing Uproar

Sometimes Twitter gets people really riled up and one guy who really knows how to exploit that is Neil deGrasse Tyson. The scientist's brain is full of amazing information, but sometimes he says things that make us question his genius. His latest tweet about Elsa (from Frozen's) facial proportions has really got Twitter going crazy and shows that he should really stick to the more intellectual side of things.

Check out people's less than complimentary reactions to his observations and then take a look at some of deGrasse Tyson's other condescending tweets that got people angry.

Scientists Gave Cuttlefish and Shrimp 3D Glasses Because Why Not?

Sometimes you really come up with an amazing study idea, with a potential success rate of about 0%  to succeed. You're colleagues may think you're crazy, might even laugh at you, but you keep pushing it. And if you get to that point, you'd be where these scientists from a international team at the University of Minnesota, who decided to examine the cuttlefish and its field of vision while hunting, using 3D glasses.

We're not talking about the latest tech that resemble regular glasses. No, the red and blue glasses of yore that used to come with the first "3D" movies. With any number of methods to measure these reactions to prey and stimuli, that the scientists opted for the retro method, especially with its challenges, is surprising. But it just makes for some of the best visuals possible so here is what happens when you put 3D glasses on cuttlefish and feed them lots of shrimp to do it. The results were even more surprising.

scientists put 3d glasses on cuttlefish and let it lose in an underwater movie theater to study how it reacts to and seeks outs its prey while hunting, by training them to wear the glasses and follow the shrimp. The cover photo is of a cuttlefish with 3d glasses on circa 1990 in a recent study

Science Memes For People Who Are Smarter Than Us

These memesmight range from pseudo-scientific to highly scientific, but they're all the same to us here at Memebase. There's a reason we're not making that sciencey science money and are reporting on funny pictures. We are just not blessed in the science department. I straight up failed chemistry - twice. That being said, these memes seem pretty good by our small-brained standards.

Scientists Just Discovered That Penguins Used To Be Human-Sized

Penguins aren't exactly formidable creatures, are they? Although Emperor penguins can reach up to 4 feet 2 inches, they always seem super friendly and cute. Now imagine a penguin the same height as you. That changes things. Penguins the size of humans... the idea sounds like it comes from science fiction. But it actually just comes from science. It was recently discovered that giant penguins used to exist. We are not kidding.

Bats Use Leaves As Mirrors To Find Camouflaged Insects

Bats are widely misunderstood creatures in the animal kingdom - while they're associated with witches, vampires and darkness in general, they're actually super cute and interesting. And scientists have just discovered something amazing about them - bats use leaves as "mirrors" that reflect sound waves, helping them find insects hiding behind leaves. Cool, right? Or confusing? Keep on reading, we'll explain everything.
