Woman Discovers Her MIL is the "Ghost" She's Been Hearing on Her Sleeping App Threatening Her Every Night

TikToker Rosa Chicas decided she wanted to download a Sleeping App advertised to her recently to see how she was sleeping at night. She expected to hear some snoring, maybe a fart or two, but she did not expect to hear someone else in the room whispering to her. It wasn't just any whispers either, it was threats of murder and sinister remarks like she's ugly and doesn't belong there.

At first she though it was an evil ghost haunting here, so she purchases a camera to record her at night. She was shocked to discover it wasn't a ghost at all, but her mother in law coming into her room every night to whisper these hateful things to her.

Part 1 & 2

Chicas had been living with her MIL's kids for several years now. Her MIL only joined them recently when she was released from prison. Her boyfriend (she refers to her MIL because it's just easier) worked late, so when she would go to bed, she would leave the bedroom door unlocked. She never thought she'd have to keep someone living with her out of her room. When she discovered it was her MIL coming into her room every night, she simply couldnt' believe it because during waking hours she's a total sweetheart to her. She didn't tell a soul about what she saw through the overnight camera.

Part 3 & 4

Night Camera Footage

Viewers of the videos of Chicas explain the story are extremely concerned for her life. Chicas initiall didn't tell anyone she lives with (expect all of TikTok months later) about the incident and Chicas says she hasn't told her partner because she knows he'd kick her out of the house and she doesn't want to do that to the children or her MIL. Viewers are calling her out for gaslighting herself about how dangerous the actual situation is.

Chicas says that she thinks she'll be alright and they're moving out May 1st, so it should be fine. But she also scarily adds, “I do remember one time she told me if she ever were to [kill] somebody, she'd do it to them in their sleep.” And yet Chicas still relays the story without any concerns to the situation. Maybe it's a trauma response?

Part 5

Chicas says she doesn't want to report on her MIL because if her MIL gets in trouble with the law right now, she'll have to go back to prison for a decade. Chicas loves her MIL's children, but she's only 21 and doesn't want to have the responsibility of taking care of these kids the rest of her life (the youngest being 4).

Update:

Since posting these TikToks her family now knows about the situation and the MIL's parole officer. Because of that the MIL is moving out in a couple of weeks, so Chicas feels relieved. However, her viewers do not feel any relief, because they believe Chicas has been dealing with this scary situation in a very unhealthy way. She defends her MIL's actions, she jokes about getting murdered by her, she even mentions in one of her videos that if it happens it was just “meant to be”—as in, if she gets murdered by her MIL, it was just “meant to be.” That is an absolutely terrifying attitude to have towards this kind of situation. In her updates, she even says she's offended that people are not giving her MIL the benefit of the doubt and that this whole situation being shared on TikTok has really sparked a debate about mental health issues.

Maybe it was her reaction that got TikTokers talking about mental health issues, but mostly viewers are just very concerned for this girl's life.
